Your data
Privacy, in plain language
You can browse DropHound deals without creating an account. An account is optional and only needed if you want deal alerts.
Basic site data
Like most websites, our hosting and analytics providers may process limited technical information such as browser type, device type, approximate region, referral source, and pages viewed. We use this information in aggregate to understand whether the site works well and which categories readers find useful.
Accounts and session cookies
If you sign in, we store your email with our authentication provider (Supabase) and set a session cookie so you stay signed in. That cookie is necessary for the alerts feature. We do not use advertising pixels or sell your personal information.
Watches and alerts
You can watch every newly published deal, or save categories and keywords to match a subset. If you enable Chrome notifications, we store a browser push subscription (an endpoint and encryption keys for that device). Chrome will also ask you for notification permission; that prompt is the consent for push. Alerts link to DropHound deal pages, not directly to Amazon.
Links to other sites
When you follow a retailer or community link, that service applies its own privacy policy. Affiliate links may include a referral identifier so the retailer can attribute a purchase to DropHound. We do not receive your payment details or a list of everything in your order. Newly published deals may also be posted to our X account with a DropHound page link, not a tagged Amazon URL.
If our practices change, we will update this page with clear language rather than hiding material changes in legal boilerplate.
